All the details on Ralph Lauren's star-studded New York show

Yesterday, Ralph Lauren hosted an emotional show that harked back to his roots. The designer presented to a small group of editors and A-listers at his private design studio in the city, mirroring his very first women's show, which took place in his office back in 1972.

"The woman I design for has a beauty that comes from an inner confidence," he said. "She dresses for herself. Her style is personal and bold. She’ll throw a hand-tailored jacket over a glamorous evening dress. She believes in quiet sophistication not defined by time or trends. My autumn/holiday 2024 collection is inspired by that woman, her sense of timelessness, her individuality — a style that is forever."

The collection featured the classics that have become synonymous with Lauren's all American brand, including cowboy hats with evening gowns, beautiful suede, tailoring and plenty of glitz and silk. It was about "understated elegance and timeless glamour," said the show notes, while the front row was as starry as you would imagine. Jessica Chastain, Glenn Close, Jodie Turner-Smith and Kerry Washington were among the names in attendance.
